MEDICINAL HERBS AND ESSENTIAL OILS

It is a practical workshop aimed at the development of quality phytotherapeutic products. In this course we will learn to use plants with therapeutic properties from a scientific and well-founded approach. The objective of this workshop is to provide the basic tools for self-sufficient health management. We will address the recognition of plants with therapeutic properties and the responsible use of their derivatives, whether they are Essential Oils, Extracts or Micronized plants. We will be based on the research and knowledge of a family dedicated to herbal medicine for more than 150 years. Five generations devoted to responsible research and development of formulations with scientifically proven therapeutic properties.

The person who decides on this workshop will have access to more than 1000 useful references in the preparation of phytotherapeutic preparations, among which are: 80 vegetable oils, 200 essential oils, 150 vegetable extracts and hydrosols, 350 herbs, spices, resins , wood and roots, 60 natural drugstore references (thickeners, salts, alcohols, emulsifiers, surfactants, preservatives and clays), 25 flours and starches. You will also be able to smell, touch and differentiate a wide selection of them during the development of the workshop. You will learn how to choose the best raw materials based not only on their active ingredients, but also on their origin and type of processing.

The idea of ​​this workshop is to give a practical approach to phytotherapy, so that the participant will prepare a product in each class, which they can take home and check its effectiveness. In addition, you will learn in a practical way the different techniques for obtaining active ingredients. The tools that will be provided during the course are very useful not only for professionals in the area but also for people interested in their own health and that of their family.

1): Introduction to herbal medicine and distillation:

  • What is phytotherapy: Aromatherapy and medicinal plants.
  • Basic extraction techniques of active ingredients for phytotherapy.
  • Fundamental principles of distillation.

PRACTICE: Distillation and elaboration of a hair strengthening tonic.

2): Alcoholic, Hydroalcoholic, Glycolic and Glyceric Extracts:

  • Processing and techniques in the preparation of raw materials for extracts.
  • Types of extracts and obtaining active ingredients.
  • Fundamental principles of alcoholic and hydroalcoholic extraction.

       PRACTICE: Alcoholic tincture and preparation of the Venetian scrub for muscle pain and inflammation.

3): Oil Macerated:

  • Processing and basic techniques for the preparation of raw material for oil-based extraction.
  • Basic lipid profiles of vegetable oils for a correct extraction of active ingredients.
  • Fundamental principles of oil extraction and conservation.

       PRACTICE: Macerated oil and preparation of a healing and tissue regenerating serum for burns and postoperative care.

4): Ointments, Ointments, Balms and Creams: differences and areas of application.

  • Structural characteristics and textures of the various phytotherapeutic preparations.
  • Natural preservatives: safe use, conservation capacity and spectrum, miscibility and formula interaction.
  • Natural emulsifiers: characteristics, durability, textures, adaptability in formulations for phytotherapeutic products.

Description of the Perfumery Course

It is a practical workshop for people who are attracted to the world of aromas. In this workshop we invite these people to take a direct and exciting journey through the hermetic and secret world of perfumery. From its origins to the present day. During the development of the course we will address different aspects of the traditional perfumery of the Italian school, in which the creation of perfume is seen as an art intimately linked to the well-doing of an artistic craft with refined techniques for more than five generations of perfumers.

The participant will have access to more than 40 absolutes, 200 natural essential oils, 80 organic compositions, 70 fractions and 120 natural aromatic extracts (alcoholic tinctures). You will also be able to smell, touch and differentiate some 150 kinds of resins, spices, woods and different aromatic roots that are also used in perfumery. He will learn to choose the best raw materials based not only on their aroma but also guided by their origin and type of processing.

The idea of ​​this workshop is that the participant can interact with the raw materials and their derivatives, making a mental aromatic file, one of the most important tools of a good perfumer. In addition, in each of the classes you will create a different perfume. And with these bases he will be able to make his own and completely unique creations.
